The National Musuem of Singapore's first ever Night Festival is set to dazzle with two weekends of spectacular theatrical performances, music, open air cinema and fun interactive actvities. The Night Festival opens on 18 July with internationally acclaimed Studio Festi from Italy. Known for their extrodinary staging of large-scale outdoor theatrical performances, including the recent 100 Day countdown to the Beijing Olympics at Macau, Studio Festi will enthrall with The Dancing Sky.
The museum garden and premises will be transformed into a surreal and magical playground with its site-specific masterpiece.Dancing Sky will be staged on both Friday & Saturday.
Making use of the expansive landscape, the sky is literally the limit as Studio Festi pulls out all the stops with soaring dancers, helium-balloon ‘planets’ and flying ships and pianos.

On Both Days

First Show: 9pm - 11pm
Second Show: 11:30pm - 1:30am
Highlights the Show:
Queen of the Tides
2 big transparent spheres, 6 metres of diameter, rolling around their own axis, go ahead very slowly in front of the Museum; a girl dances, suspended within the sphere.

Like the Moon
The moon floats between and flying dancers, graceful against the night sky of the Museum frontage.

Flying Piano
uspended in the air, light as melody, is the piano and the pianist as a lone performer dances atop the grand instrument.

The Progeny of Dreams
Daughters of the night, tall (3 metres above ground), mysterious and magnificent in their multi-colored costumes and mask, will loom over passers-by as they parade down Stamford Road.

The Harmony of the Spheres
Big flying spheres are lifted and with them, dancers take to the sky! They are brought higher and higher and the performance heightens as the spheres leap over and interact with the crowd.

In the Waters of the Sky
A big flying vessel with a female acrobat performs an extraordinary dance in mid-air.
Also available at SMU Green are and amazing Light Show, a Water screen & projection, an outdoor theatre Tablo Vivant, and two dances that will take your breath away with contrasting elements, the Water Dance and the Fire Dance.
