Take 2 minutes and read through this..

INVALUABLE advice
Take 2 minutes and read through this; you will be amazed at what you can learn!

Bed Sheets
After drying sheets, put both sheets and one pillowcase in the other pillow case. Fold neatly in a square. Next time you change sheets, you just take the one pillow case and all the sheets and pillow case are inside. No need to look for matches.

Reheat Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really works.

Reheating refrigerated bread
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.

Broken Glass
Use a dry cotton ball to pick up little broken pieces of glass - the fibers catch ones you can't see!

Easier thank you's
When you throw a bridal/baby shower, buy a pack of thank you cards for the guest of honor. During the party, pass out the envelopes and have everyone put their address on one. When the bride/new mother sends the thank you's, they're all addressed!

Name tag
If you purchase a new bike for your child, place their picture inside the handle bar before placing the grips on. If the bike is stolen and later recovered, remove the grip and there is your proof who owns the bike.

Flexible vacuum
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.

Reducing Static C ling
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a c ling y skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that c ling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and -- voila -- static is gone.

Measuring Cups
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill it with hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry the cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

Foggy Windshield?

Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car. When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth!

Reopening envelope

If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Voila! It unseals easily.

Conditioner

Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's a lot cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair...

Good-bye Fruit Flies

To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass fill it 1/2 with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dishwashing liquid, mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

Get Rid of Ants

Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it 'home,' & can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, esp. if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

Take baby powder to the beach

Keep a small bottle of baby powder in your beach bag. When you're ready to leave the beach sprinkle yourself and kids with the powder and the sand will slide right off your skin.

The number 8, 八!

EIGHT is a digit Chinese like to associate themselves with..
The word for "8" (八) in Chinese (pronounced as “ bā ”). It sounds similar to the word which means "prosperity" or "wealth" (发 - short for "发财", pronounced as: fā). In regional dialects the words for "eight" and "fortune" are also similar, eg Cantonese "baat" and "faat"..
Hence the fondness for this digit by the Chinese population world wide!
Coincidently, there is also a resemblance between two digits, "88", which represent the shuang xi ('double joy'), a popular decorative design composed of two stylized characters 喜 (xi, 'joy', 'happiness')..
So the more the merrier for this digit, be it in car license, handphone number, house number..

ps:
unfortunately, this year 2008, 8.8.2008 is not a consider an auspicious date as this day falls in the month of the "lunar 7th month" where the ghosts and spirits from another world is let out to "visit" this world..so..till another 8.8.8 strikes...again..

SOMETHING CALLED "LIFE"

something lovely..i got it ..from a website..dedicated..to..::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

THIS IS HOW WE MISS OUT SOMETHING CALLED "LIFE"

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage.

They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes.
When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter.
The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to thebottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died.
The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.

QUESTIONS :

1. What were the five words ?
2. What is the implication of this story?

ANSWER :

The husband just said "I am with you Darling"!

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior.
The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life.
There is no pointin finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened.. No one is to be blamed.
She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.

If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world. "A journey of a thousand milesbegins with a single step". Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things areactually not as difficult as you think.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
This story is really worth reading. .....

Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship,in a job or with the people we know.

By this way we miss out something called L.I.F.E ..
I hope you don't get to miss a part of life..even if it is for a while..coz life is precious..life is short..life is unpredictable!!

~hug~

I believe that there's no such thing as a bad hug,
only good ones and great ones
non-fattening and they don't cause cancer or cavities
..
all natural with no preservatives, artificial ingredients or pesticide residue...cholesterol-free, naturally sweet, naturally heart warming
100% wholesome and they are a completely renewable resource
...
Easy to care for,
they don't require batteries, tune-ups, or x-rays...non-taxable, fully returnable and energy efficient...safe in all kinds of weather...
In fact, especially good for bad days, and
cold and rainy days and
exceptionally effective in treating problems like bad dreams or Monday blues...
Never wait until tomorrow to hug someone you could hug today,
because when you give one,
you get one right back your way !

HUG HUG

ps: i need one now coz i m realyl having a HARD HARD time..ek :(

1st birthday Dedications..from me-2-u

Hello Dear

"Each New Year of our lives carries with it a passage to reflection and re-evaluation. This is a rich blessing; to revel in the excess of your prosperity and use it, Swim and get lost in the depths of copiousness; in the wealth of the lessons that surround you, birth you, grow you, teach you.The walk to our legacy is a glorious one.Make poetry with your words.
Make music with your breath and the verve from your soul.
Make love with your kindness. Unconditionally love.
Make truth with what is.
Make life with the spirit that exists within you.
Make movements with your force for they only reckon with you out of fear, out of insecurity. Be fearless back. And move!Be courageous in your pursuits and Live. Live! For the sake of all that is being around you; be a part of it too. Be inspired to find freedom in the midst of constraint. Laugh in the face of anything that doubts you for sometimes that’s all that we can do to fight back. The world never stops; it merely waits long enough for us to jump aboard and take hold of our destiny
.”

This moment is yours.
This day is yours especially;
A gift to cherish, like you.
On your day, I wish for you all the happiness and love that the universe has to offer. Keep writing, speaking, and touching lives and hearts with all the gifts that have been bestowed you since your creation. You are loved and you love in return. That alone is the best gift anyone could ever hope for in this life. Wish you nothing but smiles and happiness for your 28th birthday.Happy birthday to a warrior amongst men, my dear… Happy, happy birthday to you…May your birthday truly be something special this year, as well as every day that precedes and follows it.

i only need this much help..

In my opinion, the problem with humans is that either we are not helping each other at all or that we are simply giving the "wrong" kind of help!
I have illustrated such problem with a saga which was forwarded to me from a friend. ..And oh coincidently, I can't help but be reminded of a little incident.. when I needed to go and download software to set up my printer. Being a pc idiot, with almost zero knowledge, I needed help to get the newly bought printer started..Somehow someone offered to do it and come and install for me. But I refuesed to get such help as I believe that so long I can get the link I am sure I will be able to figure out how things are done. Moreover, if such things were to happen in future, I would have had an experience in handling. So you see even for such small things, we can get wrong type of help. A small geture of help will do in this case but if given extra helpings then perhaps, one can't learn anything except dependency! don't u think :P

~

Once a friend of mine was getting off a train in the Cleveland Terminal, and a young man got off in front of him, carrying a suitcase in one hand and a cane in the other. The man walked awkwardly as he felt his way with the cane.
"May I help you carry your suitcase?" my friend asked.
"No, thanks, I don't need any help with the suitcase,"
came the reply.
"But if you wish, you may guide me up these stairs so I
won't run into anyone. I am blind and I have a new set
of artificial legs. But I've got to learn to make my
own way, you know."
When they got to the top of the stairs my friend took the young man rather firmly by the arm to guide him through the crowd entering the terminal. But the blind man stopped at once and spoke quietly:

"No, don't take possession of me, just guide me,
please. Put your arm on my shoulder; that's all I need."

Good words to remember when you help someone.
"Put your hand on my shoulder and just guide me, please...and not to clear away the crowd for me.."

Now tell me this. "What comes first, Day or Night?"
The boy was jolted in! to reality as his admission depends on thecorrectness of his answer, but he thought for a while and said, "It's the DAY sir!" "How can that be possible? Why not NIGHT first? How can you be sure?" the interviewer asked, "Sorry sir, you promised me that you will not ask me a SECOND difficult question!"

black vs colour

This poem was nominated for the Best Poem of 2005.
It was written by an African Kid..

When I Born, I Black
When I grow up, I Black
When I go in the Sun, I Black
When I scared, I Black
When I sick, I Black
And when I die, I Black.
And You White Fellow
When You Born, You Pink
When You grow up, You White
When You go in the Sun, You Red
When You Cold, You Blue
When You Scared, You Yellow
When You sick, You green
And when You die, You gray
And then You call me colored????
