with metta...happy Vesak day!

Vesak Day, being one of the most important days in the Buddhist calendar is celebrated world wide. It is marked with great ceremonial ritual, commemorates the birth and enlightenment of Buddha and his entry into Nirvana. Yet, even as this significant event is being celebrated by Buddhists throughout the world, we remember with deep sorrow those who have been devastated by recent natural disasters – the tropical cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and the earthquake in Sichuan, China. Let us help alleviate the plight of the suffering, perhaps with a simple act of donation or prayer, or even a kind word...
